Webinar: The European Dealer of Tomorrow

Webinar: The European Dealer of Tomorrow 26th September

As the leading researcher in automotive distribution, with a track record over 25 years of supporting all parts of the industry to anticipate future trends, ICDP recently published their European Dealer of Tomorrow report, available for download here. On Wednesday 26th September at 10.00 a.m. BST, 11.00 a.m. CET, we will be hosting an open webinar based on the report. The webinar will last approximately 45 minutes and then there will be a Q&A session. The presentation will be available for download from our website following the event.

There have been many scare stories in recent years about the death of the dealer, as the result of a move to online sales, changes from ownership to car-sharing and other megatrends. We monitor and research the behavioural and structural trends, product and service innovations and the entry of new players that some suggest will result in this “Blockbuster moment”, and we felt it was time to share these insights more broadly and put forward what we believe is a more realistic vision by publishing this report. We do see a lot of change ahead for dealers, and not all will survive, but the demand from consumers for a physical network will continue, even though the role of that network will change. There will be benefits from scale, but smaller rural dealers will continue as long as they choose to. The medium-sized groups are most at risk. The mix and format of physical outlets will change, as will the products and services that dealers sell and support.

The webinar will cover:

- The continuing need for physical outlets and car ownership
- Customer behaviour is changing and new skills will be needed to attract and keep those customers
- Physical dealer networks will become smaller, with mixed formats, with new skills required
- There are broad implications for aftersales

If you would like to take part, please send an email to Jane Trace janetrace@icdp.net and nearer the date, you will receive an official WebEx invite. There is no charge to attend this webinar.
