December 2020 How did repairers respond to the COVID crisis and how are they preparing for future challenges? Webinar

The webinar was structured around 3 main topics:

  1. We first looked at the current status and recent past evolution of the number of independent and authorised repairers and their respective shares in the 4 main European aftermarkets. We also drew the average profile of the main independent repairer types, could be true IRs, multi-brand franchised IRs, auto-centres, fast fitters or tyre specialists. 

  2. We then analysed the evolution of their main financial KPIs in the context of an aftermarket which has experienced significant changes over the past few years. And we investigated the role played by multi-brand franchisors and other central organisations to support the adaptation of their franchisees to market trends.

  3. We concluded by addressing questions on the various impacts of COVID and lockdown, whether in terms of impact on their repair and maintenance activity, in terms of perceived changes both in customer aftersales behaviour and in repairers’ way of doing business or in terms of major lessons learnt
