April 2021 Network, dealer group, and investor consolidation; the impact on channel roles and relationships webinar

This webinar was an extension of our Investor Consolidation presentation from the 2021 Spring Meeting, view the presentation/video HERE.  The webinar looked at broader market developments in Europe, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) affecting retail networks, related regulation that may constrain consolidation, and an update of the largest national dealer groups which have continued to build scale through outlet and investor consolidation rather than market growth.  We also demonstrated that the number of dealer investors per market continues to decrease, even before any effect from Covid appears to have fed through.   

The well-funded large UK dealer groups account have declared their intention to exploit opportunities as they arise, acting as consolidators in an already consolidated market.  We were pleased to have Owen Edwards (Associate Director at Grant Thornton,) with us, to report about his UK perspective on M&A market conditions, attitudes of buyers and sellers as well as trends in valuations and deal patterns.  

We wrapped up the webinar by providing a perspective on the impact of consolidation on the evolution of channel roles and responsibilities.
