April 2023 ICDP Tuesday Update Webinar – Consumers

In the first of a new series of webinars, we looked at recent developments in consumer behaviour related to new and used car buying, and ownership.

With markets globally heading towards recession, and many consumers experience the cost of living crisis first hand, it is unsurprising that consumers are changing their habits with regards to car purchasing and aftersales (see Andrew’s latest BER BLOG Right to Repair - a Growing Movement). Buyers are holding on to their vehicles for longer, delaying purchases, non-essential aftersales work is being postponed, and some are even selling their car. In this webinar we explored how consumers are adjusting their mobility habits to today’s world, and how this will continue to evolve over the coming months.

In addition to this core topic we presented the latest information and insights from a range of sources to keep you updated on automotive consumer behaviour more generally.
