May 2023 Tuesday Update Webinar Dealer Consolidation – Trends and Implications of Cross-Border Deals

In this webinar – the  second in our new format of monthly updates – the focus was on dealers.

We are continuing to see consolidation not just nationally but also internationally with the recent acquisition of Jardine Motor Group in the UK  by Lithia of the US but also some further transactions imminent in Europe.  Against that background we will look at the challenges of delivering synergies from retail businesses cross-border including references to non-automotive where this is clearly more widespread.  What is the benefit foreign investors can bring to an acquisition in other markets and what are the benefits to that investor of extending their business portfolio internationally?  In addition we briefly picked up on other areas of research across sales and after sales which have been in the news or where we have identified something which will be a value to members.
