April 2020 How OEM-franchised workshops feel about today’s business, and how they will prepare for the future Webinar
Across the major European markets, aftermarket volumes will decrease over the coming years and due to a variety of changes in technology, mileage driven, service interval policies, and vehicle reliability. Additional factors, such as the technical content of cars (electronics and software, 48 Volt electrical systems, new powertrains) and thus regulation (technician skills, safety issues…) will require repairers to invest even more in equipment and human resources. Further challenges will arise as the uptake of electric cars increases, ADAS technology rolls outs and telematic services are implemented.
Despite these uncertainties, workshops must prepare for the new market conditions at an early stage. This includes re-considering about (new) partnerships, spare parts sourcing, channel through which spare parts can be obtained and investment needs to invest to survive. The boundaries between the OEM and IAM are blurring and this situation will accelerate that. In our up-coming webinar we will report about OEM-franchised repairers’ attitudes on how they are doing business today and how they face the future challenges.
This ICDP member only webinar highlighted the results of ICDP's 2019 OEM-franchised repairers survey which was conducted across France, Germany, Italy, Norway and Spain.
