May 2020 The European Aftermarket of Tomorrow

Our new report “The European Aftermarket of Tomorrow” highlights a range of risks and challenges affecting the automotive aftermarket over the next decade.  These affect the different players and segments in different ways, but in the end it will not be economically viable for any single type of player to dominate and push competitors aside.  Instead, there will be areas where it is more sensible for traditional competitors to collaborate in order to maintain a customer offer.  Whilst challenging in a sector where traditional language has been about winners and losers, and fairness and rights, it is not a new concept, the term “co-opetition” having first been used in the computing industry 25 years ago.
