May 2021 Drivers of profitability for car-based mobility services: guest presentation Ridecell webinar

The last year has been characterised by immobility rather than mobility, and as we predicted, several mobility offerings have exited the market. However, other models, such some forms of carsharing, have rebounded strongly as alternatives to used car purchase or public transport. Longer term, some mobility business models, such as flexible used car leasing, are expected to evolve and grow, and the experience of the last year has provided many insights on car-based mobility, particularly around flexible fleet utilisation, and the role of data and mobility platforms in targeting cars and customers.  

We were pleased to welcome Kenneth Malmberg, |Senior Director of Market Development and Alliances at Ridecell, who gave his perspective on strategies for overcoming barriers to delivering profitable car-based mobility, and the emerging opportunities for OEMs, fleet owners, dealers and other sales channels. Founded in 2009, Ridecell provides integrated customer facing and fleet management platform services for a range of car-based mobility segments. Ben Waller introduced the session with a brief summary of the ICDP view of the challenges facing the sector.
