October 2021 Autumn Meeting 2021 Making choices, managing risks
The Tuesday afternoon focused on assessing future distribution strategies, where we took a deep dive into the three main strategies of a traditional franchised networks, direct sales networks, and an agency approach. The speaking notes are below as one pack for this afternoon.
The Wednesday spanned a range of topics, starting off with looking at ‘managed’ aftersales and the role of third-party repairers and how they affect customer-repairer relationships. We then looked at the increasing importance of retail systems and processes before turning to look at the differences between EV and ICE customers, and the impact these differences have on aftermarket shares and profitability. Next consumers, taking a first look at the results from our 2021 consumer survey of car buyers, and examining how car buying behaviours are evolving.
The video recordings are available below and speaking notes have been added to the handouts.
