December 2023 ICDP webinar European Car Distribution Handbook 2023
This webinar held on 12th December introduced the latest edition of the European Car Distribution Handbook 2023 (ECDH 2023).
Franchised dealer networks are under more pressure and are subject to more disruption than ever before. Electrification, general profitability pressures, supply issues, and changing distribution models are just some of these pressures that suggest a need, and a capability, for fewer franchise points in networks, and possible more variety in sales and aftersales formats. Our recent research into consumer buying behaviour further supports this. We have been tracking the size and shape of European dealer networks through the European Car Distribution Handbook (ECDH) for over 10 years, and in this webinar we presented the highlights from the 2023 edition, focussed on looking at the general trends and influences on franchised networks.
The webinar covered areas such as sales and service networks, distributor status, and how these correlate with sales volumes and car parc in order to explore the differences between the 38 markets and 40 brands covered in ECDH.
