November 2023 ICDP webinar Mobility including guest presentation from Karzoom
WHAT IS DRIVING THE ONGOING EVOLUTION OF FLEXIBLE LEASING BUSINESS MODELS?
The trend towards car usage rather than ownership continues, most obviously through the growth of personal and salary sacrifice leasing, merging private and fleet financing. At the same time, flexible business models are still evolving, and this webinar explored the merging of flexible leasing with subscription offerings, the growth of one year leasing, and the funding and finance models that underpin them. An OEM interviewee, tasked with thinking a long way ahead on business model transformation, said that whilst it is fair to say that most mobility business models continue to struggle with commercial viability, these business models are at an “Infant stage compared to large fleet leasing”. And while in an inflationary and low growth environment, made more problematic by cost of money increases, shortages in new vehicle supply, and RV uncertainty, investors are becoming more risk averse and conservative, it is equally clear that innovation is continuing as funders, OEMs and dealers experiment with new forms of finance and leasing models, and we will explore the mechanisms, drivers, and anticipated areas of future growth.
We were joined by Mike Fazal of Karzoom, his presentation is included in the download presentation and video recording below. Speaking notes have been added to Ben’s presentation.
