January 2023 ICDP webinar: The impact of powertrain technology change on the aftermarket

This webinar delved further into the projection work presented at the 2022 Autumn Meeting in Divonne.

We usedthe results of our simulation model and we revisited our two scenarios - respectively called "Acceleration" and "Braking" - which draw contrasting contexts for the aftermarket in 2030 in the main EU markets.  

Based on our projections presented in Divonne (see presentation here) - in terms of both market shares in volume and evolution of the number of repair orders at main dealer workshops in the frame of both scenarios, in this webinar we analysed the impact that the electrification of the vehicle parc could have on the aftersales revenues of OEM franchised workshops, both in terms of labour and parts.  

We also tried to estimate the knock on effect that this could have on the car manufacturers' spare parts sales business to their networks.
